John Malvasio, 85, is a long-time resident of Carroll Gardens. He's seen many things growing up in Brooklyn, from finding goldfish to seeing celebrations for V-J day, the end of WWII. Malvasio shares his intricate moments as well as advice to young people.

Little Lions is one of three cat cafes that just had its grand opening in SoHo New York. Cat cafes is a place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee while playing cats. Little Lions partners with Best Friends Animal Society, and acts like a foster home for the shelter cats while allowing customers to get to know their personalities and hopefully will lead to adoption. Founder/Owner Erin McShane is passionate about the cause and hopes that the space she's created for the cats to thrive will increase chances that they will also find their forever homes.

UberEats just launched in New York City. They use bike messengers to deliver food. Since the bike messengers are independent contractors, Uber does not take responsibility over their safety. Queens Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer wants to change that. Grete Suarez, RebootNY

TOOVO is a new car sharing app looking to rival Uber. The difference? It is an app which unites traditional car service companies to provide them a platform to engage with more clients. TOOVO does not surge prices, and allows both customers and drivers to agree on a price. With the recent debates surrounding Uber, will customers return to the car service companies? Grete Suarez reports.

The Consumer Freedom Review Act passed in the Senate and is now being discussed in the House of Representatives. The Act is intended to protect the rights of consumers to write public reviews of businesses, and to stop businesses from restricting this right through terms and conditions or other agreements. Businesses are generally supportive of reviews, yet, sometimes the customer can be the one who goes too far. I visited two businesses on the Upper West Side, and asked them to read their MEAN YELP.

Cat cafes first appeared in Asia as a place for customers to enjoy a cup of coffee with cats around. America then got its first first cat cafe in Oakland, California on 2014. The trend caught on, where within one year, 21 cat cafes opened across America, three of which are in New York. Koneko is one such cafe where customers can sip coffee while being immersed in kitty paradise with a twist - all the kitties are adoptable.

The expression "jua kali" derives from Swahili which, literally translated, means "fierce sun." The term was originally coined to identify the class of traveling peddlers and artisans that worked in manual labor. Later this term is used to describe a large informal economy in Kenya. Tahir Karmali was inspired by these free-spirited jua kali artisans to create a photomontage of what he sees as Kenya today. Jua Kali exhibition will run until March 26, 2016 at the United Photo Industries in DUMBO Brooklyn, New York.
